DEPARTED THE SHOW FEELING: Take that Miley!
Everyone is writing, talking, and singing about the little kiwi known as Lorde. And for good reason, she has chops. But let’s be honest here dudes, she’s 16 (fuckin’) years old. There is always room for improvement. Unless of course you’re a robot-child, and instead of sharpening your skillz you just malfunction (cough**Miley Cyrus, Amanda Bines**cough). Now, if you’re a normal human being, with experience comes development. And I can’t wait for what’s to come from Lorde.
The Fonda Theatre was packed with, surprisingly, middle aged straight couples who looked like they popped (or pooped, whichever) out of the Real Housewives of O.C. Strange, right?
When Lorde took the stage she seemed mildly timid. You can’t blame the girl, this was only her second performance in Los Angeles – which is very tough nut to crack. As she carried on and revealed new track after new track, a wave of confidence billowed from the stage. Lorde found her happy place.
Wearing what looked like head-to-toe black (I was a little far from the stage and it was dark as shit), she looked fresh & edgy. Not to be confused with her current rival Miley Cyrus who just looks fresh & easy at every turn.
What Lorde brings to the table is REAL confidence and not some manufactured bullshit that is being forced down our throats. She’s a real artist with TALENT who has been embraced by the interwebs, old fashioned radio, and adoring fans. Her live show is raw, dimensional, but could use a bit of improvement.
But my question for you is this (and don’t lie to yourself): were you this fucking cool at 16?

Exactly.
